Westwood syndrome
23 January 2008BBC Radio is brilliant - apparently, there’s more to it than just Radio 4.
Recently, there have been some ads on the TV for various new music programmes and because I like the sound of one of the tunes played in one of the ads I began to search for it on the BBC Radio website.
In doing this I have happened upon Mary Ann Hobbs - my wife apparently referred to her nether regions as her “Mary-Anne” when she were a lass, so the name immediately piqued my interest - and what a pleasant discovery this has so far been but for one thing. Now I imagine as the DJ on a radio show one is contractually obliged to chip in every so often with information and perhaps the odd witticism but it seems there’s an extra criteria for DJs on yoof programming these days. To sound like Tim “What the fuck do I sound like, for heaven’s sake!” Westwood.
She does this peculiar, no-doubt-trying-to-sound-a-bit-sexy thing with her voice but she just sounds like bloody Timmy Westside yo.
Innit.
